Lee Hollis is the pen name for a brother and sister writing team. Rick Copp resides in Palm Springs, California and is a veteran writer and producer for television and film as well as the author of two other mystery novels. Rick was the executive story editor for the short lived 1991 sitcom Flesh n’ Blood for 11 episodes and writer for two episodes. He also wrote for a few other sitcoms including The Golden Girls and Wings along with being co-writer on The Brady Bunch Movie.
Holly Simason 2010 award winner for her cooking column in the Mount Desert Islander hometown newspaper and her brother Rick saw an opportunity for them both. Holly writes recipes and Rick writes mysteries so Rick thought why not combine the two for a new book series. And they chose the pen name Lee Hollis and the birth of the Hayley Powell Food & Cocktails Mystery series was born.

Hayley Powell attends many events as the food and cocktails columnist for the Island Times but this one is a bit different, this one will be murder. Sabrina Merryweather, Nykki Temple and former prom queen Ivy Foster the trio of mean girls who used to torment Hayley are who she dreads seeing at her high school reunion. Ivy, now known as the cupcake queen is found murdered surrounded by cupcakes. Hayley tries to get the story but she must tread carefully so as not to land up in the obituary’s herself.
