The Puritans is the first book in the American Family Portrait series. The book follows a young man named Drew Morgan as he is sent to an English village in order to unmask a notorious pamphleteer. However, the place turns out to be much different than he expected as the people there are sincere and hardworking, and only wish to live by their biblical beliefs. As Drew learns the truth he decides to help them, but it may already be too late. Bishop Laud and his forces are closing in which will lead Drew to make a decision that will lay the foundation for one family’s spiritual heritage for the next several generations.
The American Family Portrait series continues with The Colonists. Benjamin Morgan fulfilled a dream, but it ended up costing him his life. Now, his feuding children must face their own lives without him. Philip is a Harvard academic who is sent to a primitive village to fulfill one of his father’s wishes, Priscilla heads into the world of commerce that is dominated by males, and Jarden ends up on a pirate ship. The three of them will work together when a merchant tries to steal the family’s holding. They’ll need to if they hope to save all that their father lived and died for.
