Order of Anne McCaffrey Books
Anne McCaffrey (1926-2011) was an American-Irish novelist of science fiction, fantasy and planetary romance. She is best known for her Dragonriders of Pern series and the novel The Ship Who Sang. She got the inspiration for another one of her well known novels, Restoree, when she saw how women were portrayed in science fiction, while their men would be the ones fighting the aliens, thus it was important to her to create a stronger female lead character. McCaffrey would receive dozens among dozens of awards for her work and was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2006. She died at age 85 from a stroke.
Anne McCaffrey started writing short stories in the 1950s. Her first novel published was Dragonflight, which came out in 1968. Below is a list of Anne McCaffrey’s books in order of when they were originally published (as well as in chronological order):

I found a pdf that states this: SUGGESTED READING ORDERS OF BOOKS AND STORIES IN ANNE MCCAFFREY’S PERN SERIES
Fans often ask for advice as to the order in which to read the books in the popular Dragonriders of Pern© series. Anne McCaffrey herself suggests you should read them in the order in which they were published. You can get the PDF here: http://www.pernhome.com/aim/2006-Pern-Reading-Order.pdf
Now I can begin my collection and (hopefully) stop worrying where to begin reading or what order.
When you click the link you will download the PDF immediately – so if you don’t want to download it, don’t click the link. I also posted this to the Order of Dragonriders of Pern page.
There’s a book missing from the standalone list. Restoree published in 1967.
Quote from above: “The Ship Who Searched was co-authored by Mercedes Lacey.”
That should be Mercedes Lackey.
just because its the date of publication, doesnt mean thats the chronological order they go in. You should make a list of that too with the pern books
