Asa Larsson Synopses: Sun Storm is the first Rebecka Martinsson novel by novelist Asa Larsson. Returning to her hometown of Kiruna, Rebecka Martinsson carries a history of personal disgrace. As a successful attorney in Stockholm, she has reasons of her own to come back, foremost among them being her friend Sanna. Sanna’s brother, a charismatic figure instrumental in establishing a revivalist church, has been brutally murdered. Sanna, fragile and haunted, seeks Rebecka’s help to lift the cloud of guilt that threatens to consume her. The looming presence of an ambitious prosecutor and a relentless policewoman adds urgency to the situation.
With her own past casting shadows, Rebecka takes on the task of aiding her friend and unearthing the truth behind the murder of a man she once admired but now questions if she ever truly knew. To stand by Sanna’s side and to unveil the identity of the real killer, Rebecka must confront the darkness that had driven her away from Kiruna in the first place. This means immersing herself in a labyrinthine web of conspiracy, deception, and secrets that demand to be unveiled. As she delves deeper, she faces a murderer whose motivations are enigmatic, disturbing, and seemingly impossible to decipher.
The Blood Split by Asa Larsson is the second Rebecka Martinsson novel. During Sweden’s enchanting midsummer, when daylight stretches into the early hours of dawn and the grip of a long, isolating winter finally loosens, a brutal killer emerges. The victim this time is a female priest, a polarizing figure who stirred both animosity and loyalty among those she encountered. Her lifeless body is discovered hanging within the walls of her church. Amid this unsettling backdrop, a seasoned attorney with a deep familiarity with death becomes entwined in the investigation.
Rebecka Martinsson, who not long ago had to take three lives to halt a disturbing killing spree that also involved a priest, returns to her hometown of Kiruna. The case is now in the hands of a determined policewoman, and as the police and the community grapple with the aftermath, Rebecka finds herself drawn back into a world she thought she had left behind. In the midst of mourning and celebration surrounding the victim, Rebecka delves deeper into the mysteries of the case, a journey that is soon marked by yet another tragic death.
As Rebecka unravels the threads of the dead woman’s life, she becomes enmeshed in a complex tapestry of pain and healing, sin and desire, and, above all, sacrifice. The deeper she goes, the tighter the web of the victim’s world entangles her, forcing Rebecka to confront her own demons and make choices that will impact not only the investigation but also her own future.
no..no there must not be an end to this wonderful series. I found her too late and I am staying up way too late trying to read all her books. And almost done too.But I must confessI have gone back and re-read a couple of her books again, they are so good.
What about the PAX series?
Will there be anymore Asa Larsson books available in the uk
I would bet on it!
She is supposed to be working on a sixth (and final) book in the series. Don’t know when it’s supposed to be done, though.
