David Hewson is a British author of crime fiction and mystery novels as well as non-fiction books. He writes the Nic Costa series. Rather than finishing school, Hewson started working for a small newspaper in the north of England. He went on to work for The Times and The Independent. David left journalism in 2005 to become a full-time novelist.

Lucifer’s Shadow is also titled The Cemetery of Secrets. Macbeth and Hamlet, Prince of Denmark are co-authored with A.J. Hartley. The Harold Middleton books are collaborative novels and are each written with several other authors.
