Order of Michael Bond Books
Michael Bond was an English author best known as the creator and author of the wildly popular Paddington Bear. His first book was A Bear Called Paddington about a marmalade-loving bear from Peru and it lead to a whole world of books and adaptations in the world of television and film. The Paddington series was a tremendous success and reached kids over many generations. There have been more than 35 million copies of Paddington books sold worldwide.
In addition to his work writing the Paddington series, Bond also wrote multiple other characters including Detective Monsieur Pamplemousse which was his series of mystery novels that was aimed towards adults. Bond wrote throughout his life as his first book was published in 1958 and his last book was published in 2017. Earlier in his life, Bond served in the Middlesex Regiment of the British Army until 1947. It was during his time in the army that he began writing. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 91.

Monsieur Pamplemousse is the first book in the series of the same name. The story introduces us to Monsieur Pamplemousse, inspector of food and detective extraordinaire, as well as his friendly dog and helper, Pommes Frites. Pamlemousse gets the chance to dine at the fame La Langoustine in Provence as the restaurant aims to earn their third Red Stockpot. He is very excited for the night when he cuts into the restaurant’s house delicacy and finds something far more grisly and sinister. It seems that someone wants Pamplemousse out of the way and he’ll return to his sleuthing roots to find out who it is.
A Bear Called Paddington is the first book in the long-running Paddington series and introduces us to the bear who traveled from Peru to meet the Brown family.
