Alam studied writing at Oberlin College. In addition to his work as an author, Alam is a writer whose work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, New York Magazine, and Buzzfeed. He is also a contributing editor in The New Republic. In his personal life, Alam lives in New York with his husband and their two children.

The couple must figure out if they can trust this older couple and find out if this is a truly safe place for their family.
