Reigning Cats and Dogs Mysteries Synopsis: Dead Canaries Don’t Sing is the first book in Cynthia Baxter’s Reigning Cats and Dogs Mysteries series. It’s an early morning and Dr. Jessica Popper is off to a house call at a farm. It is then that her one-eyed Dalmatian, Lou, and her Westie (sans tail), Max, discover a partially buried body in the woods. Max excitedly digs up the expired canary nearby, Jessie realizes this corpse was on the verge of singing about something. In order to find out what, she contacts her on-again, off-again lover and private investigator, Nick Burby, in order to find suspects to this crime.
