Amulet Books, an imprint of Abrams, announced Monday that it will be releasing eBook editions of the first six books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney. They will become available on October 30th.

As for the seventh book, The Third Wheel, it will be released on November 13th in hardcover and eBook formats.

Kinney explained his reasoning for the delay of the series in eBook format. “It was important to me to make sure the books look just as good on the screen as they do on paper. I’m thrilled at the way the books look on e-readers, tablets and other devices, and I hope fans enjoy having them in digital format as much as they’ve enjoyed them as books.”

The series has been published in 41 languages and 44 countries. In total, 75 million books have been printed. The series has also been adapted into film, the first of which was released back in August.
