Maris then used her Bachelor’s in Meteorology from Penn State to begin her Glass Series about a glass magician who can capture magic inside her glass creations. Tom Swift is the protagonist in a series of juvenile science fiction/adventure, written under the house pseudonym Victor Appleton. The character was created by Stratemeyer Syndicate founder Edward Stratemeyer. The series has a focus on science, inventions and technology. Interestingly, the taser (which is actually an acronym for “Thomas A. Swift’s Electric Rifle”) was inspired by the fictional invention in the series. The Petaybee series consists of two young adult sci-fi trilogies by novelists Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough. The series is focused on a major who goes by the name Yana. Yana is a disabled soldier who is sent to a glacial planet called Petaybee to spy, but it turns out that the planet is actually beginning to become sentient. New Upcoming “Moby Dick” (Loose) Film Adaptation Gets Funding

The film will be called Mobius and will take place in space, rather than at sea, and “Mobius” is an alien instead of a whale. In the movie, a captain will take his crew on an ego-driven mission in order to control an engimatic alien. (more…)
New Serge A. Storms Beer Launching Soon

The beer is named Serge and was crafted by Saint Somewhere Brewing’s Bob Sylvester. It will launch at a Tim Dorsey book signing October 9th at 7-9 PM at Mr. Dunderbak’s in Tampa. (more…)
