The CW has ordered scripts for a new drama based on the Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations, which is to be executive produced by Reese Witherspoon and titled simply “Expectations.” The adaptation will take a modern spin on the novel.

A very old and stunning letter was found by Dr. Jackie Sheehan in Gloucestershire, England from inside of an old Bible. It was from legendary author Charles Dickens, offering his wife (and mother to their 10 children) £600 per year so he could start a new life with the 18 year-old Ellen Ternan, an actress.
