If You Like Catherine McKenzie Books, You’ll Love…

Smoke is the tale of two women dealing with a wildfire that is threatening their town. There is Elizabeth, a former firefighter, who is trying to leave that life behind her for a quieter one with her husband. That didn’t quite work out though and her and her husband plan for a divorce. The fire is raging and gives her a new purpose. The book also tells of Minday, a former friend of Elizabeth, who is hoping the fire will give her a new purpose: helping a man who has lost his home. The two women deal with the fire in their own ways, and discover that some things will be lost in the fire.

Deeply buried secrets come to a head at a family reunion in I’ll Never Tell. The book takes us back to Amanda Holmes, bludgeoned in a rowboat twenty years ago at the family camp, who’s killer was never found. In present day, the MacAllister siblings are brought back to camp to read their parents will. Everyone has their own plans for the estate, but the will stipulates that they won’t be able to sell until the mystery of what happened to Amanda is solved. Will they work together to discover the truth? Or will they let their secrets tear them apart?
