Poison Pen by Sheila Lowe is the first book in the Forensic Handwriting Mystery series. The apparent suicide of Lindsey Alexander raises suspicions that lead to a deeper investigation. Ivan, Lindsey’s partner, refuses to accept the police’s conclusion and enlists the help of forensic handwriting expert Claudia Rose to delve into the case.

As Claudia investigates, she uncovers a multitude of motives for murder, revealing that Lindsey had made powerful enemies. The discovery of a brutal attempt on Ivan’s life further confirms Claudia’s suspicions and suggests that a desperate enemy is lurking.

With a massive target on her back, Claudia must team up with LAPD detective Joel Jovanic to survive. Together, they embark on a race against time to stop the killer before Claudia becomes their next victim.

Sheila Lowe Review: I thoroughly enjoyed reading Poison Pen by Sheila Rose. The main characters were incredibly likable, and I’m excited to continue their journey in the next two books of the series. I particularly appreciated the unique skill set of the main character, who specializes in deciphering handwriting—an aspect not commonly explored in many books. This novel provided a quick and refreshing break from some of the heavier reads I’ve encountered lately. As a fan of quirky crime mysteries with a touch of romance, this book was right up my alley. -D.
