Order of Dillman & Masefield Books
George Porter Dillman and Genevieve Masefield are the protagonists in a series of historical mystery novels by British novelist Conrad Allen (Keith Miles). The series is also known as the Shipboard Mysteries series and the Ocean Liner Mysteries series. Dillman and Masefield work as private detectives who work aboard various ships during the Turn of the Century.
Conrad Allen began his Shipboard Mysteries featuring George Porter Dillman and Genevieve Masefield series in 1999 with the novel Murder on the Lusitania. The series lasted eight novels, concluding in 2007 with the novel Murder on the Celtic. Dillman & Masefield Synopsis: The first Shipboard Mystery is Murder on the Lusitania by Conrad Allen. In September 1907, George Porter Dillman is leaving Liverpool on the maiden voyage of the Lusitania. He has been hired to pose as a passenger while working as a private detective on the ship. At first, he only has to deal with some petty crimes, until an expensive piece of jewelry is stolen and then a body is found. George makes friends with Genevieve Masefield in order to solve these two crimes as quickly as possible, but while they’re at it, they discover some secrets that could prove to be troublesome.
