Order of Irish Country Books
The Irish Country series is a series of novels by Irish-Canadian author Patrick Taylor. The series follows Barry Laverty, who has his medical degree and goes for a job working as an assistant at a small practice in the village of Ballybucklebo. Here he will learn more about life, love and the country life than he ever imagined.
The Irish Country series began in 2007 with the novel An Irish Country Doctor. The series is currently ongoing. Below is a list of Patrick Taylor’s Irish Country novels in order of when they were originally published (and also in chronological order):

I have seen in several places “A Dublin Student Doctor is a prequel to the novel An Irish Country Christmas.” which would place it third….but I have seen it more often in publication order later(as you have indicated). His site just has them listed in publication order. Sigh.
Yep from a quick look that appears to be correct – that’s where that one falls chronologically and I don’t believe the others are out of order at all.
I think “Dublin Student Doctor” is later in chronological order than number three. Barry’s girlfriend here is Sue and we’ve had no mention yet of the dissolution of his relationship with Patricia
