Order of Brian Jacques Books
Brian Jacques (1939-2011) was an English author of children’s fantasy novels. He is best known for his Redwall series. Brian grew up in Liverpool, where as a boy, his father read him the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Robert Louis Stevenson and Edgar Rice Burroughs. Despite his French-looking last name (which is actually pronounced “Jakes”), his family has never been able to find any record of having French ancestry. He originally wrote Redwall for blind children he met when he was delivering milk, but it got attention when his former English teacher Alan Durband (who had also taught Paul McCartney and George Harrison) showed it to his publisher and told them they’d be “foolish not to publish it.” Jacques passed away in February 2011 due to a heart attack. J.R. Rain is an American author of mystery, paranormal romance, adventure, young adult and children’s novels. He writes the Vampire for Hire/Samantha Moon series, Jim Knighthorse series and several others – often collaborating with other authors. J.R. became interested in writing as a kid when he started reading Choose Your Own Adventure gamebooks. While researching his novel The Lost Ark, he got himself a big-time Hollywood agent and started writing screenplays. After two years of working for Paramount and Alphaville Productions on various projects, he realized his true love was writing novels. Rain now lives in the Pacific Northwest with his dog. (more…)

Victoria was born and raised in Rhinelander, Wisconsin where fishing was a practically a way of life. Before becoming an author, Victoria wrote for magazines and newspapers, worked in promotion and publicity and then public relations. Amy Tan is an American author of Chinese American literature, best known for her novel The Joy Luck Club. She has appeared on The Simpsons in animated form. A major theme of her work is the exploration of the relationship between mother and daughter. When she was a teenager, her brother and father both died of brain tumors at almost the same time. After a move to Switzerland, Amy’s mother revealed that she had three daughters in China that she had with an abusive husband. The series has been adapted into the German TV series titled “Der Kommissar und das Meer” as well as for Swedish television. In the past, Mari has worked as a reporter on Swedish radio and television and also appeared on the TV4 daily talk show Forkvall as a presenter.
