Jasmine Guillory is an American author and New York Times bestseller. She has also written for numerous publications including Oprah Magazine, Cosmopolitan and Real Simple. She burst onto the book scene with her first title, The Wedding Date.
Guillory is an American-American woman out of Oakland, California and takes a certain amount of pride in writing for that section of people. She was a fan of writing for a long time and would often write on the side while working her job as a lawyer during the day. She has continued to practice law even as her writing career has blown up.

The Wedding Date was Guillory’s first book and it was selected as a Reese Withersppon x Hello Sunshine Book Club pick. It is a fun romantic comedy that focuses on Alexa Monroe as she agrees to go to a weeding with a guy she gets stuck in an elevator with. This is the kind of rom-com esque plot that Alexa wouldn’t normally go for, but Drew makes it hard for her to resist. Drew is without a date when fate intervenes for Alexa to step in as his fake girlfriend. They have more fun than they could possibly imagine and even though that was supposed to be it – they can’t stop thinking about one another.
Her follow-up to that book was the New York Times bestseller The Proposal. The book starts off with a cringe worthy public proposal at a Dodgers game that Nikole Peterson wants no part of. Saying not to her boyfriend would normally be easy, but not in front of a crowd full of people. Thankfully, Carlos Ibarra is there to save the day and rush her away from the camera. The strange situation begins a fling for the two of them, but what was meant to be casual soon turns into real feelings and they aren’t sure what they’ll do next.
