The Mystery of Alexander the Great series is a series of historical mystery novels by English author Paul Doherty. The series is set at the beginning of Alexander the Great’s reign, in ancient Greece. The first two novels have Jewish siblings Miriam and Simeon investigating the mysteries, while the final three novels focus on Alexander’s childhood friend Telamon as the detective.

Paul Doherty began his Mystery of Alexander the Great series in 1997 with the novel A Murder in Macedon. The series lasted five books, concluding in 2003 with The Gates of Hell.
