The Kennedy & Trentham series is a series of police procedural/mystery novels by English novelist Shirley Wells. In this series, Jill Kennedy is a forensic psychologist who leaves a big job in London (due to a wrongful conviction on a case she worked on) for a small village in Lancashire, England. Expectations for an easier life in the village of Kelton turn out to be incorrect, and murders seem to follow her there. Shirley Wells is an English author of crime fiction and romance novels (as Shirley Worrall). She writes the Kennedy & Trentham series and the Dylan Scott series. Shirley spent her early life in England’s Cotswolds. A headmaster once wrote that she was content to “dream her life away.” During her adult life, while living in Cyprus, she realized that she could use her dreaming to her advantage by writing fiction. Shirley then moved to Scotland’s Orkney Islands where she started writing short stories and began writing romance novels. She ended up moving to Lancashire, England and began writing mystery novels that were set in the area. Jacqui Rose is a British author of gangland crime thriller novels. Jacqui grew up in an isolated mining village in South Yorkshire. She first came to appreciate writing when as she would write essays for other kids in her class for packets of sherbet dips. When she was a teenager, Jacqui also realized she loved acting and making people laugh, but was expelled and ended up homeless in London briefly. She taught drama and writing workshops for prisoners, ex-cons and the homeless on a volunteer basis. Jacqui got the idea for her first novel, Taken, from an abusive relationship she was in.
