Will Thomas is an American novelist of historical mystery novels. He writes the Barker & Llewelyn series. Prior to becoming a novelist, Thomas wrote essays for Sherlock Holmes society publications and lectured on Victorian-era crime fiction. He has also been a librarian for the Tulsa City-County Library System and has been featured on the cover of the trade publication Library Journal. He studies the Victorian martial arts Bartitsu and Hung Gar, which are utilized frequently in his work. Will lives in Oklahoma with his family. (more…)
Order of Michael Brandman Books
Michael Brandman is an American author of crime fiction novels. Following the death of series creator Robert B. Parker, he wrote the Jesse Stone series from 2011 until 2013. Brandman is also a film producer who has worked on such films as Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, Monte Walsh and Jesse Stone: Stone Cold. He was chosen to take over the reins of the Jesse Stone series after having worked with Robert B. Parker on over a dozen films. Brandman is married to actress Joanna Miles and lives in California. The Lake District Mysteries series is a series of mystery novels by English novelist Rebecca Tope. The series follows Simmy Brown, a florist who works in Windermere in the Lake District of England, but lives in Troutbeck. Order of Pearl S. Buck Books
Pearl S. Buck (1892–1973) was an American author of literary fiction, non-fiction and children’s books. She won the Pulitzer Prize and the William Dean Howells Medal for her novel The Good Earth. Pearl was the daughter of American missionaries and spent much of her early life in China, which is where she set the majority of her novels and wrote about in non-fiction books. Following civil unrest in China, Buck returned to the United States in 1934. She also supported many causes, including civil rights, women’s rights and helping to establish Welcome House, the first international/interracial adoption agency. Buck was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1938, making her the first American woman to receive such an honour. She died in Vermont in 1973. (more…)
