New Book From “Sherlock Holmes” Creator

For the first time ever, a diary by Sherlock Holmes author Arthur Conan Doyle is set to be published by the British library.

The diary is the account of Conan Doyle’s experiences as a surgeon on an Arctic whaler. The diary has been unavailable to the public since it was written in 1880. The book is titled Dangerous Work: Diary of an Arctic Adventure and will be printed as a facsimile edition showing Conan Doyle’s original handwriting and sketches, alongside a full transcription and photos of the journey. “Sookie Stackhouse” Author Explains End Of Series

Thirteen books and a hit HBO TV series (True Blood) after creating the Sookie Stackhouse character, author Charlaine Harris has explained to the show “Good Morning” why she is putting the character to bed.

“I’d been writing Sookie for so many years, I wrote the first one maybe fifteen years ago, and I just felt like it was time for a change,” she explains.

“I felt that the heart was going out of my effort to write the series and I don’t want to give a book that’s less than heartfelt.” (more…)

Kardashian Sister Gives Her Thoughts on “Fifty Shades”

Yet another celeb has given their “oh-so-valuable” opinion about the Fifty Shades series. According to Celebrity Cafe, Khloe Kardashian was not very impressed with Fifty Shades of Grey. Not that she’s read it, of course, but she scoffed at the idea of reading erotica rather than simply watching porn. “What everyone tells me is that if you’re missing out on a sex life, if you read the book, it makes you want to have a sex life,” Khloe said.

“And, I have a phenomenal sex life. So, I’m not dying to read written porn. I would rather watch porn – than read a different version of porn. But, I don’t know what it’s about,” she added.

However, a family member of Khloe’s has read the book. (more…)

A recent poll done by 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair has Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James at a shockingly low 5%, whereas Barack Obama’s memoir Dreams from My Father at 16%. Meanwhile, Mitt Romney’s non-existent memoir is at 8%. (more…)
