Kate Kingsbury is one of the pen names of British novelist Doreen Roberts Hight. As Kingsbury, she writes cozy mystery novels. In addition to that, she also writes mysteries as Rebecca Kent and Allison Kingsley. She also writes romance novels under her birth name of Doreen Roberts. She writes the Pennyfoot Hotel Mysteries, Manor House Mysteries and other series. Before becoming a novelist, Doreen worked in offices and in a restaurant. She lives in Oregon with her husband that she met in a chat room.
Kate Kingsbury became a published author in 1987 with the romance novel Gambler’s Gold, which she wrote under her real name of Doreen Roberts. The novel was written on a typewriter. Her first novel writing under her Kate Kingsbury pen name was Room With a Clue and was published in 1993.
