Welcome to October!
Last month I mentioned that Harlan Coben had a new book coming out in the Myron Bolitar series, and that I’d never read any of the Bolitar series – even though Cobens standalone novels are some of my favourite books ever.
So I decided what the heck – time to give the Bolitar series a chance.
And I’m hooked.

She writes the Key West Food Critic Mysteries, and has also written the Golf Lover’s Mysteries and Advice Column Mysteries (as Roberta Islieb). She is a clinical psychologist. Steve Watkins is an American author of young adult and children’s novels. He writes the Ghosts of War series. Since graduating from Florida State University, Steve has taught journalism, creative writing, and Vietnam War literature at the University of Mary Washington. He also teaches yoga, and works as an investigator and advocate for abused and neglected children through the child advocacy organization CASA. He lives in Fredericksburg, Virginia with his wife Janet, and four daughters – Maggie, Eva, Claire, and Lili. Steve and Janet are co-directors of the religious education program at the Fredericksburg Unitarian Universalist Church. (more…)

Rosie Genova is an American novelist of cozy mystery novels. She writes the Italian Kitchen Mysteries series. Rosie is a Jersey girl through and through, and uses it as a setting for much of her work. She put her appreciation for food, Italian pride and love of classic mysteries (such as Nancy Drew and Miss Marple) together to make her Italian Kitchen Mysteries series. Rosie still lives in New Jersey with her husband and dog. She has three adult sons. Rosie also writes women’s fiction as Rosemary DiBattista. (more…)

Kate Charles is an author of mystery and suspense novels. She grew up being influenced by Nancy Drew and Agatha Christie. Kate moved to the United Kingdom in 1986 and decided that the Church of England would make the perfect setting to base novels around (which became her Book of Psalms series). Following open-heart surgery, she decided to try her hand at suspense with Unruly Passions. Then, she became interested in Italy and created Callie Anson – a newly-ordained woman visiting Venice for the very first time. (more…)

Lori Copeland is an American author of Christian contemporary and historical romance novels. Her books have been nominated for the prestigious Christy Award and received two Romantic Times Lifetime Achievement Awards. Peter Straub is an American author of horror novels and poetry. He has won the Bram Stoker Award, World Fantasy Award, and International Horror Guild Award. Peter is the son of a salesman and a nurse. His parents wanted him to become an athlete, a doctor or a minister; all he wanted to do was learn how to read, and he soon did. But soon after, he was hit by a car in a near-death experience and had to undergo surgeries, take a year off school and spend time as a wheelchair. This only led to him reading more. M.J. Arlidge is an English author of crime thriller novels. He writes the DI Helen Grace series. Arlidge spent time travelling – teaching in India and visiting Singapore and Australia. Upon returning to the UK, he studied for an English Literature degree at St. Johns College, Cambridge. Since that time, Arlidge has worked in television for 15 years, focusing on high end drama production. He has produced numerous primetime crime serials for ITV. (more…)
