Patricia Ryan is an American author of romance (including contemporary, historical and erotic) and mystery novels. She writes romance novels under her real name, historical mysteries as P.B. Ryan and erotica as Louisa Burton. She is the author of the Nell Sweeney/Gilded Age Mysteries and Castle of the Hidden Grotto series. Patricia has won the Golden Heart Award as well as two Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice Awards and a RITA (for Silken Threads, Best Long Historical Romance). Cornelia Funke is a German author of adventure and fantasy children’s/YA novels. She is best known for her Inkheart Trilogy, and also writes the Ghosthunters series. She has been referred to as the “German J.K. Rowling.” When she was young, Cornelia wanted to be an astronaut or a pilot (as many kids do), but ended up going to the University of Hamburg for pedagogy and becoming a social worker for deprived children. She is a Pulitzer Prize nominee for her poetry collection Some of It Is True as well as an Agatha Award winner for her Southern Sisters Mysteries series.
