James Patterson is an American author of thriller and mystery novels. If you haven’t heard of James Patterson, you must have been living under a rock for the last couple of decades. It’s impossible to go anywhere these days that sells books without seeing some form of James Patterson books on the shelves. Patterson is currently putting out approximately 10 books per year, sometimes more, with the help of co-authors.

Brad Thor’s books focus on the fictional character Scot Harvath, who is an ex-Navy Seal turned Secret Service Agent. Thor shadowed a Black Ops team in order to research his novel The Apostle. Brad is also known for making controversial political comments that always causes a lot of reaction. His novels have been published in at least 25 countries, but not Saudi Arabia, as The Last Patriot was called “Islamophobia” by former Nixon aide Robert D. Crane. (more…)

Gabriel Allon is the fictional creation of author Daniel Silva. Silva had previously written 3 other books, including a short series of 2 novels starring CIA employee Michael Osbourne.
The Michael Osbourne books also gave the perspective of an assassin, and the writing from the assassins viewpoint always seemed more “lively”, so it’s no surprise that Silva would follow that up with a series of books about Gabriel Allon, an assassin. (more…)
One thing you have to appreciate about the Andy McNab books is you know he isn’t just living in a fantasy world; as a Sergeant and ex-member of the Special Air Service, he’s actually lived through a lot of the stories he tells.
McNab doesn’t have to do research for his books; he lived it. As you read the stories of the likes of Nick Stone, McNab’s main character, you have to wonder just how much of it is McNab basically writing an extended version of his memoirs. (more…)
