N.K. Jemison
N.K. Jemisin is an American author of speculative fiction novels. She writes the Inheritance Trilogy series. Born in Iowa City, Iowa, Jemisin grew up in New York City and Alabama. She then spent a decade in Massachusetts, prior to moving back to New York City. Jemisin earned her B.S. in psychology from Tulane University and her M. Ed from the University of Maryland College Park. Besides her writing, she also works as a career counselor. Jemisin lives in Brooklyn, New York. (more…)

Inspector Bonaparte is the protagonist in a series of detective fiction novels by Australian novelist Arthur Upfield. Inspector Napoleon Bonaparte (aka “Bony”) is a half-Caucasian, half-Aboringine police detective with the Queensland police force. The novels are not only set in Queensland, but throughout the entire country of Australia. He often works undercover, using a pseudonym. (more…)

Order of Arthur Upfield Books

Arthur William Upfield (1890-1964) was an English-Australian author of detective fiction and thriller novels. He wrote the Inspector Bonaparte series. Upfield moved to Australia when he was a young man and fought with the Australian military during World War I. He spent the next few years travelling around his adopted home country, learning about the Aboriginal culture. Upfield was also a member of the Australian Geological Society and was involved in numerous scientific expeditions. Upfield’s works remained popular after his death, and in the 1970s were adapted into the Australian television series entitled “Boney.” (more…)

Connie Archer is an American author of cozy mystery novels. She writes the Soup Lover’s Mysteries. Connie spent her early life in New England, where she enjoyed ice skating, spending time at the Cape Cod beach and skiing in Vermont. She would read Caesar’s Gallic War journals and the twelve books of the Aeneid. She also performed in a theatre troupe, travelling the suburbs of Boston. Connie majored in biology in college, but ended up getting a degree in English literature. She now lives in Los Angeles. (more…)

Chris Nickson is a British author of historical mystery novels and non-fiction books. He writes the Richard Nottingham and the D.I. Tom Harper series. Chris began writing while he was a young boy in Leeds. He soon realized he enjoyed it, as well as playing and writing music. He spent 30 years living in the United States, both playing in bands and writing, and has made a living writing since 1994. Much of his writing has been in the music journalism genre, which combines two of his passions. Chris moved back to the United Kingdom in 2005. (more…)
