New “Odd Thomas” Novel Released Today

Author Maeve Binchy Passes Away at 72

“The Shining” Film Sequel in the Works
Written by Dan Malone on Tuesday, July 31st, 2012Stephen King is currently working on the sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep, but meanwhile Warner Bros. is looking at a film prequel to the film directed by the late Stanley Kubrick.
The studio has contacted writer/producer Laeta Kalogridis and partners Bradley Fischer and James Vanderbilt about working on a story for the potential sequel. (more…)
“Elementary” Star Got “Sherlock” Star’s Approval

Cumberbatch has been playing the role on the BBC show “Sherlock” since 2010.
Miller says he is a fan of Cumberbatch’s work on the British show, but says his portrayal will be his own. (more…)

“The Hobbit” Now Officially a Film Trilogy

The Lord of the Rings director says that after he cut the first film and part of the second, that there was enough material to produce a third.
Jackson says that much of J.R.R. Tolkien‘s story would remain untold in film form if he had stuck with two movies. (more…)

James W. Huston is an American novelist who writes military and legal thrillers. Before becoming an author, Huston was in the U.S. Navy and practiced law, which he still does to this day. After writing editorials for local newspapers in the 90s, he decided to try his hand at writing fiction. After writing two novels that were rejected over and over, “third time’s a charm” ended up being the case for Huston. Little House is a series of historical fiction children’s books by American author Laura Ingalls Wilder. The series is based on the childhood of Laura Ingalls Wilder, although it is still considered a fiction series rather than non-fiction. The series begins in the 1860’s and is set in the Midwestern United States. It focuses on the Ingalls family (although the second book in the series, Farmer Boy, tells the story of the man who would later become Laura’s husband, Almanzo Wilder). Laura Ingalls Wilder (1867-1957) was an American author of the Little House series – a series of children’s novels based on her own life growing up in a pioneer family. Before gaining fame as a novelist, Laura worked as a teacher as well as on the farm.
