New Wilbur Smith Novel To Hit Big Screen

Reelart Media has purchased the rights for the Wilbur Smith novel Those in Peril, which looks to have a 2014 release.

Those in Peril is a thriller about pirates off the Somalian coast. You can get the best price for the mass market paperback of Those in Peril by Wilbur Smith as of tomorrow. You can also find it in hardcover and eBook formats. The trade paperback has yet to be released. (more…)

Nora Roberts Nominated for Two RWA Awards

The Romance Writers of America has named Nora Roberts (as J.D. Robb) as a finalist for their RITA Awards.

New York to Dallas by J.D. Robb was nominated for Romantic Suspense, while Chaos in Death by J.D. Robb were both nominated for the Romantic Novella award. Both books are apart of the J.D. Robb In Death series.

The winners of these awards will be announced at the RWA’s 32nd annual conference on July 28th, 2012 in Anaheim, CA.

Enid Blyton Books To Be Updated?

Yesterday, we alluded that Hachette UK had interesting plans for the Enid Blyton estate. It appears as if some of those plans have become apparent.

Hachette plans to not only update the illustrations in the Enid Blyton backlist, but they intend to update the language used in the books. And as it is 2012, they look to have her books out in eBook format as well. They had already raised some eyebrows by updating The Famous Five under Chorion’s license. (more…)

Mistborn Fantasy Novels To Be Adapted Into Video Game

Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn series is going to be hitting shelves in Fall 2013 — video game shelves, that is!

Sanderson recently announced that Little Orbit Games will be developing a video game adaptation of Mistborn called Mistborn: Birthright. Little Orbit has in the past made licensed video games of Young Justice and Sherlock Holmes. (more…)
