M.L. Buchman is an American author of romance, romantic suspense, fantasy, science fiction and thriller novels. He writes the Night Stalkers, Angelo’s Hearth, Firehawks and other series. Besides writing, Buchman has worked in fast food, theater, computers, publishing, and light manufacturing. He has also rebuilt and single-handed a fifty-foot sailboat, both flown and jumped out of airplanes, designed and built two houses, and bicycled solo around the world. She has won the Andre Norton, Tiptree, Mythopoeic, Rhysling, Lambda, Locus and Hugo awards. Cathrynne was born in Seattle, where she lived until she was 13, when she moved to California. Being the daughter of an artist, she tried to rebel and become a scientist. She studied anthropology at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. She’s also known for her webcomics and work as a freelance artist, drawing anthropomorphic animals. There, she spent her time reading tons of fantasy novels, raiding her brother’s comic book collection, and playing guitar poorly. She began writing An Ember in the Ashes while working nights as a newspaper editor. She likes thunderous indie rock, garish socks, and anything nerdy. Well it’s been a busy month work wise for me. I haven’t read as much as I wanted. Like I said last month I’m still working my way through Gregg Hurwitz books. I read a couple more of his standalones. Don’t Look Back really highlighted his writing abilities as he captures the jungles of Mexico very well.
