G.M. Malliet is an American author of mystery novels. She writes the St. Just Mysteries and the Max Tudor series. Malliet got her graduate degree from the University of Cambridge and then went on to do post-graduate work at Oxford University. She enjoys reading, hiking, cooking and planning her next vacation. Malliet grew up as a military brat, who spent time in Alaska, Colorado, New Mexico and Hawaii during her childhood, and later lived in Japan and Europe (she especially enjoyed living in the U.K.). Naomi Novik is an American author of historical fantasy/alternate history novels. She writes the Temeraire fantasy series. Naomi has been reading ever since she was young, even reading the Lord of the Rings when she was six and then came to love Jane Austen when she was only seven years old. With her childhood love for literature in mind, it comes as no surprise that Naomi studied English Literature at Brown University. She also got her Master’s degree in Computer Science from Columbia University. Robert Barnard (1937-2013) was an English author of crime fiction and non-fiction books. He is the author of the Charlie Peace and Perry Trethowan series. Barnard attended Colchester Royal Grammar School and Balliol College. His lifetime achievements were honoured with the Cartier Diamond Dagger award from the Crime Writers Associaiton in 2003.
