Roger Zelazny (1937-1995) was an American author of science fiction and fantasy, in both novel and short story format. He is best known for his Chronicles of Amber series. His novels tended to utilize various mythologies – anything from Greek mythos to Navajo and everything inbetween. His dialogue was minimalistic, almost as if he were writing hardboiled fantasy. Winston Groom was an American author of both fiction and non-fiction. He is best known for his novel Forrest Gump, which was adapted to the Academy Award-winning film by Robert Zemeckis. Groom originally wanted to take after his father and become a lawyer, but ended up choosing to become a writer. He served in the U.S. Army in the ’60s and went to Vietnam.
