Kate Shugak is a fictional character who is featured in a series of mystery novels by American author Dana Stabenow. As Stabenow is a native of Alaska, her series is set there. Kate largely interacts with the Aleuts (indigenous people to the area) and sometimes with the Eskimos of Alaska. Kate is an Aleut herself who lives on a national park with a wolfdog named Mutt. “Sherlock Holmes” House Saved

We recently posted about the possible redevelopment of Arthur Conan Doyle’s former home, Undershaw. Well, it turns out that the high court has determined that the house will not be up for redevelopment.

“Fifty Shades” Returns to Florida Libraries

The Brevard County Library system in Florida had pulled the Fifty Shades trilogy from its shelves because, after reading reviews (not the books themselves!), they were deemed “semi-pornographic.”

However, due to public demand, the libraries have changed their tune and are now going to allowing the Fifty Shades books onto their shelves after all.
