We recently posted about the possible redevelopment of Arthur Conan Doyle’s former home, Undershaw. Well, it turns out that the high court has determined that the house will not be up for redevelopment.

Stephen King’s “Joyland” Gets Publisher; Release Date

Titan Books and Hard Case Crime have announced that it will publish the upcoming Stephen King novel titled Joyland. King is the world’s best-selling active novelist and has over 300 million books currently in print.

The book is set in a North Carolina amusement park back in 1973, where a college student is going to confront a vicious murder that will change his life forever. (more…)

“Fifty Shades” Returns to Florida Libraries

The Brevard County Library system in Florida had pulled the Fifty Shades trilogy from its shelves because, after reading reviews (not the books themselves!), they were deemed “semi-pornographic.”

However, due to public demand, the libraries have changed their tune and are now going to allowing the Fifty Shades books onto their shelves after all.

Pratchett Wins Award; Pig Named After Book

Terry Pratchett has won a unique award for his 50th novel, Snuff. The award is the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction.

Jack Reacher Movie Now Titled “Jack Reacher”

Paramount has re-titled the upcoming Jack Reacher moving starring Tom Cruise.

Originally, it was to be titled “One Shot,” which is the title of the novel by Lee Child. Instead, it will be called “Jack Reacher.” (more…)
