Laurie Halse Anderson is an American author of young adult, children’s and historical fiction novels. She writes the Vet Volunteers series. Laurie started out as a freelance journalist, writing for The Philadelphia Inquirer. At the same time, she began writing books for children and young adults. A few books into Laurie’s career, the novel that she made her name on, Speak, was published. The novel won several different awards, made the New York Times bestseller list and was later adapted into film (starring Kristen Stewart). Edward Lee is an American author of horror and thriller novels. He writes the Infernal series. Edward served in the U.S. Army Security Agency and was stationed in West Germany, where he was the lone M60A1-series tank gunner with a security clearance. When he got back home, he worked as a police officer for three months, quit to go back to college and quit that to become a writer. Edward’s favourite horror novel is Our Lady of Darkness by Fritz Leiber, but the author to have the greatest influence on him is H.P. Lovecraft. He lives in St. Pete Beach, Florida. (more…)

Connie Willis is an American author of science fiction stories and novels. She writes the Oxford Time Travel series. Connie has won numerous Hugo Awards and Nebula Awards, has been inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame and also is a SFWA Grand Master. The characters in her stories are often quirky, with strange goals in mind (trying to accomplish something that makes no sense in the current situation; played for comedy). The series is also known as the original title of A Dream of Eagles (outside the United States) and sometimes as the Arthurian Saga. The books in this series are a re-telling of Arthurian legend, which tell the origin of Camulod (Camelot’s alternate spelling), the heritage of King Arthur and the political situation at the time.
