She wrote the Weather Warden, Morganville Vampire, Outcast Season and The Revivalist series. Besides the Rachel Caine pseudonym, she also published books under the names Roxanne Longstreet (her maiden name), Roxanne Conrad, Ian Hammell and Julie Fortune. Robert E. Howard (1906-1936) was an American author of pulp fiction, including fantasy, sword and sorcery, western, horror and boxing. He was also a poet. He is best known for his Conan the Barbarian character, and is the creator of the sword and sorcery sub-genre of fantasy. His other well-known series is the Solomon Kane series. His stories mostly appeared in pulp magazines (such as Weird Tales) and not in novel format during his short lifetime. Howard committed suicide when he learned that his mother was in a deep coma and was not expected to regain consciousness. (more…)
