Carolyn Haines is an American author of mystery and romance novels who also writes under the pen name Caroline Burnes. She is the daughter of two journalists and would later work as a journalist herself for over ten years. Her novels are often set in the Mississippi Delta. Carolyn’s main series are Fear Familiar and Sarah Booth Delaney. Carolyn has won the Richard Wright Award for Literary Excellence in 2009 and the Harper Lee Award for Alabama’s Distinguished Writer of 2010. F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) was an American author during the Lost Generation. He coined the phrase “The Jazz Age,” which he epitomized. He is best known for his novel The Great Gatsby, which has been adapted into films in 1926, 1949, 1974, 2000 and 2013. His style was very lyrical, with a perfect ear for language.
