Megan McDonald is an American author of children’s books. She writes the Judy Moody and Stink series. McDonald grew up the youngest girl out of five, which became her inspiration for her Sister’s Club series. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College and her Master’s of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Joe Weber is an American author of military thriller novels. He writes the Scott Dalton & Jackie Sullivan series. Weber is well-versed in the area due to the fact that he himself is a former fighter pilot. He earned his M.S. in Aviation Management and has more than 10,500 hours of flight time in 43 different aircraft under his belt. Weber served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1970-1975. Gene Wolfe is an American author of science fiction and fantasy novels and stories. He writes the Urth/Solar Cycle series. Wolfe is known for his dense and allusive prose and the influence his Catholic faith has on his work. Unlike popular conventions, his first-person narrators are sometimes unreliable. Wolfe once wrote to Neil Gaiman, “My definition of good literature is that which can be read by an educated reader, and reread with increased pleasure.” He has won numerous Nebula, Locus and World Fantasy awards, plus several other awards. Frasier was born in Burlington, Iowa. Her parents divorced when she was young and she spent her childhood in poverty and moving across the country. After graduating from high school, Anne worked as a waitress, a factory worker, a secretary and a bartender. While working as a bartender, she met her future husband and began writing. Kim Stanley Robinson is an American author of science fiction and alternate history novels. He is the author of the Three Californias, Mars and Capital Code (or Science in the Capital) trilogies. Robinson attended the University of California, San Diego and earned his B.A. in literature. The next year, he earned his M.A. in English from Boston University. Then, he returned to UC San Diego to get his PhD. Common themes in Robinson’s work include ecology and capitalism; his novels are known for their anti-capitalist stance.
