Hank Phillippi Ryan is an American author of mystery, thriller and romantic suspense novels, in addition to being an investigative reporter for the Boston, Massachusetts NBC affiliate. She writes the Charlotte McNally series and the Jane Ryland series. Ryan grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Western College for Women, following up by studying in Germany. She began working as a reporter for a radio station in 1971 and went on to work for many different television stations over the decades. In 1983, she joined WHDH-TV and has been there ever since, becoming the principal reporter for the investigative unit in 1989. Ryan lives with her husband in the Boston area. (more…)

The Selection is a series of YA dystopian fiction/romance novels and novellas by American author Kiera Cass. The Selection follows a girl named America Singer, who is entered into a competition in order to become the next queen of the country of Illea, which includes becoming the wife of Prince Maxon. But in order to do this, she would have to leave her family and her boyfriend. The series was optioned for a TV series, although it didn’t get picked up. (more…)

Ransom Riggs is an American author of young adult and children’s novels and non-fiction books. He writes the Miss Peregrine series. Riggs was educated at the Pine View School for the Gifted, studied English literature at Kenyon College and then film at the University of Southern California. As a filmmaker, his short films resulted in him getting the opportunity to write the Sherlock Holmes film tie-in book entitled The Sherlock Holmes Handbook.
