She writes the Southern Sewing Circle Mysteries (as Elizabeth Lynn Casey), the Jenkins & Burns mysteries and the Amish Mysteries series. Laura has been writing ever since she was young, and at the age of 10 sent her prized second novel (O’Casey’s Wish) off to a publishing house – only to be rejected. She still maintains hope that the novel will see the light of day. Laura is a graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She lives in New York with her family. (more…)

Gertrude Chandler Warner (1890-1979) was an American author of children’s mystery novels. She is best known for creating the popular Boxcar Children series. Gertrude had wanted to become a writer from when she was a young girl. She would write stories for her grandfather and give them to him as Christmas gifts. As a child, Warner would see the inside of a caboose with a stove inside and dream about living inside a train. It would be this childhood dream that she would develop into what she would ultimately be known for – The Boxcar Children. Besides writing, Warner also worked as a teacher and volunteered for various non-profit organizations. She died in 1979 at the age of 89. (more…)
