Paul Watkins is an American author of fiction and historical fiction as well as crime fiction under the pen name of Sam Eastland. He has split his whole life between the US and UK, attending Dragon School, Oxford, Eton and Yale University (where he earned his B.A.). Paul currently works as a teacher and writer-in-residence at The Peddie School and has taught at Lawrenceville School in the past. He lives with his wife and two children in Hightstown, New Jersey. Order of Gor Books
Gor is a series of science fiction/fantasy novels by American novelist John Norman. The series includes heavy doses of philosophy and erotica as well. Gor is located in a parallel universe and ruled by a species of insectoids known as the Priest-Kings. The Priest-Kings have transplanted various Earth cultures (including Romans, Vikings, etc) onto Gor, along with the various indigenous species. The main character of the series is Tarl Cabot, a British professor and expert swordsman who interacts with all of the various beings. John Norman is an American author of science fiction novels. He is best known for his Gor series and also wrote the Telnarian Histories trilogy. Norman is also a philosophy professor and has published several philosophy books under his real name of John Lange. Philosophy is also a major part of his fiction, as his novels often contain lengthy dissertations of philosophy, criticizing society. Seanan McGuire is an American author of urban fantasy novels under her real name as well as political thriller and horror novels under the pseudonym of Mira Grant. She writes the October Daye, InCryptid, Newsflesh (as Mira Grant) and Parasitology (as Mira Grant) series. Seanan won the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 2010 by the World Science Convention. She watches too many horror films, likes to walk around in swamps, record music and is an big X-Men fan. Lois Lowry is an American author of children’s books, many of which are children’s fantasy novels. She is most famous for her novel The Giver (which spawned the Giver Quartet) and the novel Number the Stars – both of which have won the Newbery Medal. Some of Lois’ other series include the Anastasia Krupnik series (and its Sam Krupnik spin-off), the J.P. Tate series and the Gooney Bird series.
