Her influences include Philip K. Dick, J.R.R. Tolkien, Leo Tolstoy, Lewis Carroll, Rudyard Kipling and Norse mythology. Order of J.D. Salinger Books


J.D. Salinger (1919-2010) was an American author, best known for his novel The Catcher in the Rye. Salinger created his Holden Caulfield character in the short story Slight Rebellion off Madison and after World War II, began working on his signature novel. The Catcher in the Rye was originally written for adults, but became popular with young adults for its themes of teenage angst, confusion and rebellion. Salinger lived most of his life trying to escape the public eye. He died in 2010 of natural causes. (more…)

Jeeves is a main character in a series of comic short stories and novels by English author/humourist P.G. Wodehouse. The term “Jeeves” as a generic butler name originated with this character created by Wodehouse and is now listed in the Oxford English Dictionary. The character is the valet of Bertie Wooster, often getting the rich employer out of sticky situations with a clever plan. The character was portrayed by Stephen Fry in the ITV series Jeeves and Wooster (with the latter being played by Hugh Laurie). (more…)

Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse (1881-1975) was an English author of comic short stories and novels, best known for his Jeeves and Blandings Castle series. Widely considered a master of prose in the English language, the prolific author was admired by fellow contemporary authors such as Hilaire Belloc, Evelyn Waugh and Rudyard Kipling and modern authors such as Douglas Adams, J.K. Rowling and John le Carre. His writing style is known for mixing London clubroom slang with more elegant English. Leslie Meier is an American author of cozy mystery novels. Leslie was looking to teach high school English, but ended up submitting a paper to a magazine, which got published. Thus far in her career, she has focused exclusively on her Lucy Stone character. Her stories are based on her real-life experiences as a mother and working as a newspaper reporter.
