Order of Elizabeth Peters Books


Elizabeth Peters (1927-2013) was an American author of suspense, mystery and thriller novels. She is best known for her Amelia Peabody series, in addition to her Vicky Bliss series. She graduated with a PhD in Egyptology from the University of Chicago, which is the basis for her Amelia Peabody series. Her Barbara Michaels books are considered part of the gothic fiction and supernatural thriller genres. (more…)

Maryland Teen Wins James Patterson Contest

Olivia Ferrante DiRuffano, a 17 year-old prospective author, recently won a contest to have her work published in a book by James Patterson. She says she’s wanted to be an author since she was in Grade 6.

She found out she won the Nevermore Fanfiction Writing Contest in June.

Stephen King Sets “Doctor Sleep” Release Date

Stephen King has announced that after a long delay, Doctor Sleep will be released on September 24th, 2013.

The book was originally set for a January 2013 release, but King required more time for editing and had many different projects on the go, including Joyland, which will be out in June 2013. (more…)

Order of Victoria Holt Books


Eleanor Burford Hibbert (1906-1993) was a British author of historical fiction, gothic fiction and romance novels. She was an extremely prolific author who wrote under several pseudonyms, including Victoria Holt, Jean Plaidy and Philippa Carr (her most famous ones). She also used the pen names Eleanor Burford (her birth name), Elbur Ford, Kathleen Kellow, Anne Percival and Ellalice Tate. Jean Plaidy was used for her novels about the regency, whereas Victoria Holt was used for gothic romance. Her historical novels as Plaidy were praised for their accuracy and quality of writing. Eleanor is the author of many series, including (but not limited to) the Tudor Saga, Daughters of England, Stuart Saga, Georgian Saga, Plantagenet Saga and Queens of England series. Among her inspirations were the Brontes, Charles Dickens and Leo Tolstoy. She died in 1993 while on a cruise between Greece and Egypt. (more…)
