Mark Sennen is an English author of crime thriller novels. He writes the D.I. Charlotte Savage series. Mark was born and raised in the British county of Surrey, and spent some of his teenage years in Shropshire. Living in the middle of nowhere, he would have to travel forty miles roundtrip in order to go to the movies. Mark went to the University of Birmingham, where he studied Cultural Studies. After abandoning a Ph.D, he worked as a farmer, drummer and computer programmer. Mark has since converted his programming suite into a writer’s room, where he writes nearly full-time and programs on the side. Order of Dominick Dunne Books
Dominick Dunne (1925-2009) was an American author and journalist, as well as being a Hollywood producer. Following studying at Williams College and serving in the Second World War, Dominick spent some time in New York before settling in to Hollywood, directing the TV series Playhouse 90 and becoming vice president of Four Star Pictures. Although he quickly became well-known for his parties rather than his work and became an alcoholic and a drug addict. In 1979, he left for Oregon and became an author, thereby reinventing himself. After his daughter, actress Dominique Dunne, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend, Dunne wrote an article for Vanity Fair about the ordeal. Her killer only served two and a half years. Dominick passed away in August 2009 while living in Manhattan, New York and was buried in Hadlyme, Connecticut. (more…)

Ava Lee is the protagonist in a series of crime fiction novels by Canadian novelist Ian Hamilton. Ava Lee is a Chinese-Canadian forensic accountant. Her specialty is recovering and returning debts that are difficult to recover. She teams up with “Uncle” from Hong Kong, serving all sorts of different clients. Ava is independent, intelligent and uses her creativity in order to solve the problems brought to her. She is also small in stature, but is able to use her martial arts effectively if she ever gets into a physical altercation. (more…)

Ian Hamilton is a Canadian author of crime fiction novels. He writes the Ava Lee series. Prior to becoming a novelist, Ian worked as a journalist, writing for such publications as Maclean’s, Boston Magazine, Saturday Night, the Regina Leader-Post, the Calgary Albertan and the Calgary Herald. He has also worked as a senior executive within the Canadian government and abroad as a diplomat and businessman. It wasn’t until after a health scare where his life was threatened that Ian would begin to create the Ava Lee character, using the time he spent travelling on business as inspiration for some of the people and locations in the series. Tessa Harris is an English novelist of historical mystery novels. She writes the Dr. Thomas Silkstone series. Tessa studied History at Oxford, and then went onto a career in journalism. She first wrote for her hometown newspaper in Louth, Lincolnshire, and then moved onto a newspaper in London, where she made women’s editor. Her next job was writing features for Best magazine, and eventually getting an editor job there. Tessa then spent two years working as deputy editor for the magazine Heritage. After becoming a mother, she started working as a freelance journalist for several different publications. In 2000, Tessa wrote a screenplay for a European screenwriting competition, which she won. The screenplay was set in 18th century London, and the research for which led her to creating her Dr. Thomas Silkstone character. (more…)
