12 Year-Old Has Her First Novel Published

After reading The Hunger Games, a 12 year-old girl was so inspired, she sat down and started writing herself.

“It took about 2-and-a-half months to write it, but when I was happy with it, it was about seven months later when it came back from the publisher’s in a book,” said 12-year-old Carolann Plank. (more…)

Stephen King Backlist Novel To Be Developed By Syfy

An old Stephen King novel looks to be under development by Syfy as either a movie or perhaps a mini-series.

The book, Eyes of the Dragon, is a fantasy novel that was published in 1987. It’ll be written by Michael Taylor and Jeff Vintar. The executive producers are going to be Taylor and Bill Haber. (more…)

Personalized Edition of Charles Dickens Novel Offers New Insight

A signed copy of David Copperfield by Charles Dickens has revealed some of the classic author’s superstitious nature.

He sent the copy to a tool manufacturer named William Brookes who gifted him a case of cutlery. He sent the book in order to dispel his superstition that giving a knife as a gift will sever a friendship. To combat this, the receiver must send a gift or a coin in return. (more…)

Marion Chesney was a prolific Scottish novelist who often went under the pen name M.C. Beaton. Under her real name (actually, her real last name is “McChesney”), she writes romance novels including the Travelling Matchmaker series. Under the name M.C. Beaton, she has written over 20 Agatha Raisin and nearly 30 Hamish Macbeth mystery novels. Chesney has also used the pseudonyms Ann Fairfax, Jennie Tremaine, Sarah Chester, Helen Crampton, Marion Gibbons and Charlotte Ward. (more…)
