Maxie crosses the United States in a Winnebago along with her mini-dachshund named Stretch. Together, they solve various mysteries that they come across. The Alex Jensen & Jessie Arnold series (aka the Alaska Mysteries series) is a series of mystery novels by American novelist Sue Henry. Set in Alaska, Alex Jensen works as a state trooper, while Jessie Arnold is a dog sled racer. The series also launched a spin-off series known as the Maxie and Stretch series. The first novel in the series, Murder on the Iditarod Trail, was adapted into a 1996 television movie titled The Cold Heart of a Killer, starring Kate Jackson. (more…)

Robert Asprin (1946-2008) was an American author of science fiction and fantasy novels and stories. He is the author of the Myth Adventures and Phule’s Company series, and also created the Thieves’ World series. Robert was a frequent collaborator with his then-wife, Lynn Abbey, Jody Lynn Nye and others. He died from a heart attack at home in 2008, next to a Terry Pratchett novel. (more…)
