Robert Barnard (1937-2013) was an English author of crime fiction and non-fiction books. He is the author of the Charlie Peace and Perry Trethowan series. Barnard attended Colchester Royal Grammar School and Balliol College. His lifetime achievements were honoured with the Cartier Diamond Dagger award from the Crime Writers Associaiton in 2003. Barnard considered his favourite crime fiction author to be Agatha Christie. (more…)

He is the author of the Myth Adventures and Phule’s Company series, and also created the Thieves’ World series. Robert was a frequent collaborator with his then-wife, Lynn Abbey, Jody Lynn Nye and others. He died from a heart attack at home in 2008, next to a Terry Pratchett novel. (more…)
